I've lost 68 pounds on Ozempic over the past year. And while I'm incredibly grateful for how much better I feel overall, there's one thing nobody warned me about.
Sitting down had become painful.
I work at a desk all day. Before losing weight, I could sit through meetings, finish my work, come home and relax on the couch without thinking twice about it.
Then gradually I started noticing this awful pressure at the bottom of my spine. Within 20 minutes of sitting I'd be shifting from one side to the other, trying to find a position that didn't hurt.
At first I thought something was wrong with my office chair.
I even checked underneath me a few times because it honestly felt like I was sitting on something hard.
Then I came across a discussion with other people who had lost significant weight. They kept talking about losing the padding around their tailbone.
That's when everything clicked.
I'd lost the weight, but I'd also lost the natural cushioning I'd had for years.
I tried adding a regular foam pillow to my office chair, but it was still pressing against the exact spot that hurt.
Eventually I came across Meloyra. What caught my attention was the cutout at the back — instead of putting another layer directly beneath my tailbone, it leaves an open space there.
It was such a different approach from the cushions I'd been looking at.
I never imagined that losing weight could make something as ordinary as sitting at my desk so complicated.
I'm still incredibly thankful for my weight loss. I just wish someone had told me about this part sooner.
